Let's start with the breeding!

Thursday 24 May 2018

As every spring comes, for our original brown cows it's time for breeding outside!

What are the real properties of their special milk?

Let's start with the breeding!

This is the time of the year that let the grass milk production begin!

For about 6 months per year our cow breed freely outside eating only fresh grass; this is the best wellness feeling for the animals that can choose what to eat and enjoy their freedom.

The season starts with the breeding on the lands around the stables, in Lenna (BG) and then for the summer central 3 months the breeding moves to the Pature in the Hell's Vally.

The spring grass is fresh and rich in natural properties that are good for a healthy diet.

Many studies have confirmed that this grass milk is healthy because rich in omega 3, CLA and vitamins.

therefore, the cost of this milk is much higher that the normal ones:

The milk production during the breeding is less than where the cows are in the stables and the reasons are: change of diet, more energy used for moving and keeping the right body temperature.

The quantity of fats and proteins depend on:

  • The lactation days and the number of lactations of the cow
  • The wellness of the animal, especially of the breast
  • The contribution of the energy and proteins from the breeded grass

However, even if the milk production is much less than usual, the milk from the pasture has two strong aspects:

  • UNIQUE ORGANOLEPTIC PROPERTIES Those are passed on from the milk to the cheese.
  • IT IS 100% HEALTHY It is rich in proteins, cla, vitamins and contains low colesterol.

With the grass milk we make the Formai del Ferdy Green, an explosion of properties that enhance themselves with the seasoning.
